Here you goes: Breakfast for the past 5 years
On a busy morning, at about 8:30am, there was an old man, who’s on his 80s, trying to find a doctor to help him to take off his stitches. He was in a hurry but the doctor was operating for another person and thus he waited for his turn. While he’s waiting, he kept looking at his watch. There’s this nurse who’s not busy, seeing the old man’s rushing, decided to help him since she had nothing to do. She asked the old man to sit down, and slowly taking off the clothes on the wounded spot and talked to him the same time. The nurse was quite curious and asked: “Why are you in a hurry?” The old man answered: “I have to because I had to meet people at 9am. I’m sorry to trouble you.” The nurse thought for a while. In her mind, she was thinking why the uncle was in a hurry when he’s 80 plus and there’s no need to work anymore. The old man seems to read her though and said, “I have to rush to the nursing homes to eat breakfast with my wife.” Hearing his answer, the nurse was more curious and asked, “Oh, she’s in nursing home, is she alright?” The old man again answered, “It’s nothing much, she’s just having Parkinson Disease, it had been a while.” The nurse removed the clothes, she looked at the watch and said, “Oh no, you will be late, would your wife be worried for you?” The old man said, “No, she won’t. She is not able to recognize me for 5 years. Whether I go or not, she doesn’t know.” The nurse curious again and asked, “She can’t recognize you for 5 years?? Then why are you to see her every morning still??” The old men smiled, pat the nurse’s hand and answered, “It doesn’t matter that she can’t recognize me. As long as I can recognize her, then everything is fine.” He then slowly walked away. The nurse’s tear fell down as she witnessed him leave, and thought to herself, “This is the type of love that I need.”
